DHL eCommerce Sort Codes
This document provides an overview of DHL eCommerce Sort Codes.
What are DHL Sort Codes?
In order to identify their sorting centers and distribution hubs. Sort Codes help streamline the sorting and routing process within the DHL network, ensuring that packages are efficiently directed to their intended destinations.
Every domestic DHL label will contain a box on the top right corner that contains a group of DHL sort codes. (see below image). Sort codes are required by DHL to rate, ship, and route all domestic orders.
Several times a year DHL will release an updated version of the sort code files. The first version of the sort code files for each new year starts with ‘1’ and often goes up to ‘7’.
Note: DHL will sometimes skip a number or 2 with the next sort code version released.
Note: If customers have specific questions about DHL Sort Codes, they should reach out to their DHL rep.
