Setting up a Dimensioner in DSX
What is a Dimensioner?
Dimensioners are special devices that use cameras or lasers to measure the length, width, height, and (on some models) the weight of a package.
Why is a Dimensioner useful?
Dimensioners are useful for customers who do not have box dims or weight that are reconciled from the host system (integration). Instead of having to enter dims and weight manually on shipments, a dimensioner does it for you.
Dimensioners and ShipWise
Note: Dimensioners are only compatible with the DSX application. Functionality is not supported for shipping from the ShipWise cloud.
*DSX only supports dimensioners that have an ethernet connection.
Incompatible Dimensioner formats are:
- USB connection
- Serial Port connection
Supported models:
- QubeVu
- CubiScan 75
- CubiScan 100L
- CubiScan 100T
- CubiScan 110
- CubiScan 110XT

Setting up a Dimensioner in DSX
- Click on three lines in upper-left hand corner of DSX.
- Select Settings.
- Select Dimensioner Settings.
- Dimensioner Setup opens.
1. Check off the box to enable the dimensioner.
2. If your dimensioner has scale capability, check off the box for use as a scale.
3. Select the supported dimensioner from the dropdown.
4. Enter the IP address of the dimensioner.
5. Enter the dimensioner port number.
6. Enter the dimensioner page number.
7. The rounding direction will increase or decrease the scale value to the nearest whole weight value. If "no rounding" is selected, the weight value will remain the exact read value.
8. If rounding is selected, here you set a decimal value for how much to increase or decrease the scale weight.
*Remember to click save before exiting.
Note: Dimensioner credentials are typically obtained from the screen of the dimensioner.
Troubleshooting Tips
After setting up the dimensioner, it is not passing the data into DSX. What are possible causes of this?
- A firewall is active that is blocking the IP address or port number.
- The IP address is being shared with another network device.
- Dimensioner is not enabled in the dimensioner settings of DSX.
- The dimensioner type selected is not the correct model and/or brand.
