FedEx Electronic Trade Documents (ETD)
About FedEx ETD and how to set up in ShipWise

FedEx Electronic Trade Documents (ETD) allows international shipping documents, such as commercial invoices, to be submitted electronically to FedEx instead of printing paper copies. When ETD is enabled, ShipWise uploads the required documents during shipment creation, helping streamline international shipping and reduce paperwork.
Not all countries support FedEx Electronic Trade Documents. Please see the list below for a country currently supporting ETD.
Requirements for using ETD in ShipWise:
To Enable FedEx ETD for your FedEx account, please following steps:
- Call FedEx at 1-877-339-2774. Have the meter number and address on hand in case the technician asks to confirm.
- Ask the technician to Enable Electronic Trade Document / ETD upload of letterhead and Signature
- The technician should be able to turn ETD on while on the phone call.
Please Note: If your FedEx representative suggests that your account needs to be recertified, ask to be transferred to FedEx Tier 2 Support and request that Electronic Trade Documents (ETD) and ETD document upload (letterhead and signature) be enabled for your account. Once ETD has been enabled, confirm whether there is any activation delay before the feature becomes available.
- Scroll down the FedEx settings page to locate this setting.
- Toggle to enable
As stated above, ETD must also be enabled on your FedEx account to be able to ship international shipments to countries that support ETD.
